 Emu oil was first used by the Aborigines, the indigenous people of Australia. The emu, an Australian ostrich, was already then a supplier of food and medicines for the Aborigines. For thousands of years, the meat of the emu has been eaten in Australia like chicken is eaten here. The oil is processed for a wide variety of applications.
The special feature of emu oil is that it contains, among other things, a whole range of omega fatty acids (omega 3, omega 6, omega 7 and omega 9). The unique feature is that the ratio of monounsaturated, diunsaturated, polyunsaturated and saturated fatty acids composed by nature is very close to that of human skin. This makes emu oil a highly compatible skin care product and also suitable for sensitive skin and babies. Emu oil is ideal for dry, sensitive, allergic or wrinkled skin and people who do not tolerate additives.
 
When consumed, emu oil contributes to the maintenance of normal blood cholesterol levels, among other benefits, due to its saturated and monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fatty acids. However, there are countless other human studies that show that emu oil can be used for a wide variety of purposes.
