Emu oil: Natural skin care with a unique omega-fatty acid ratio

Emu oil was first used by the Aborigines, the original inhabitants of Australia. The emu, an Australian ostrich, was already a source of food and medicine for the Aborigines. For thousands of years, the meat of the emu has been eaten in Australia in the same way that we eat chicken. The oil is processed for a wide variety of applications. The special thing about emu oil is that it contains a whole range of omega fatty acids (omega 3, omega 6, omega 7 and omega 9). What is unique is that the ratio of monounsaturated, diunsaturated, polyunsaturated and saturated fatty acids, which has been composed by nature, is very similar to that of human skin. This makes emu oil a highly compatible skin care product that is also suitable for sensitive skin and babies. Emu oil is ideal for dry, sensitive, allergic or wrinkled skin.

Common uses of emu oil in cosmetics

Moisturising: Emu oil is an excellent moisturiser. It contains essential fatty acids such as omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids that moisturise and nourish the skin. It can be used in lotions, creams and serums to lock in moisture and prevent dryness.

Anti-inflammatory properties: Emu oil has anti-inflammatory properties that can help reduce redness, irritation and inflammation of the skin. It can be used in products designed to soothe sensitive or irritated skin.

Anti-ageing effects: Some proponents claim that emu oil can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. This is believed to be due to its ability to penetrate deep into the skin and promote collagen production.

Treatment of scars: Emu oil is often used in scar reduction products. It is thought to help minimise the appearance of scars by moisturising the skin and promoting tissue regeneration.

Combating acne and blemishes: The anti-inflammatory and moisturising properties of emu oil make it a suitable ingredient in products to combat acne and reduce blemishes.

Hair care: Emu oil can be used in hair care products such as shampoos and conditioners to moisturise and nourish the scalp and hair follicles. Some people believe it can promote hair growth and improve hair texture
