What is the selenium extracted from?
The starting product for the production of the sodium selenite in our selenium drops is selenium, a chemical element that is a by-product of copper production. Selenium itself is usually found in nature as a mineral (e.g. clausthalite) and thus finds its way into copper production together with copper-bearing ores. During copper electrolysis (the final purification step in copper production), selenium is removed and brought to a purity of at least 99.5% in subsequent steps.
