Product information

High-quality magnesium chloride from the Zechstein Sea: The natural source for your well-beingThe
magnesium chloride contained in this product comes from the magnesium chloride deposits of the former Zechstein Sea, which dried up around 250 million years ago. The Zechstein Sea is considered the purest and most natural source of high-quality magnesium chloride in the world. It is extracted in the Netherlands from a depth of 1600 metres and its quality is constantly monitored and analysed.Magnesium chloride is authorised for external use and is applied to the skin.
Magnesium chloride is available in various forms: Oil, flakes and gel
Oil: Magnesium oil has an oily feel, but does not contain a drop of fat, as it is not an oil in the true sense of the word. It is a maximally saturated magnesium solution, a so-called brine. Magnesium oil has a magnesium chloride content of 31 % and consists of 69 % water.
Flakes: Magnesium flakes are formed when magnesium oil is heated to over 165 degrees Celsius. This changes the physical state of the magnesium oil from liquid to solid. Magnesium flakes have a magnesium chloride content of 47% and consist of 53% water. The solidity of the flakes results from the strongly water-binding (hygroscopic) property of magnesium chloride. The packaging should therefore always be well sealed, otherwise the flakes will turn back into magnesium oil.
Gel: Magnesium gel is made from magnesium oil, which is given a gel-like consistency with the help of natural starch. It has a magnesium chloride content of 31 % and consists of 66.2 % water and 2.8 % hydroxypropyl starch phosphate.
Transdermal magnesium vs. magnesium in tablet/capsule/powder form
Transdermal magnesiumoffers many advantages over other sources of magnesium because it :
- does not irritate the mucous membranes of the gastrointestinal tract
- does not have a laxative effect, even at high doses on the skin
- can be applied locally to the desired areas (areas with sweat glands are recommended)
- is suitable for pregnant and breastfeeding women
