Humans have been using the olive tree since the 4th millennium BC, making it one of theoldest known crops.There's much more hidden in the trees and their leaves than meets the eye. While the fruits are often consumed as olives or olive oil, the leaves of the olive tree can be processed into a highly concentrated extract or tea.

The use of olive leaves spans millennia and is linked to numerous cultural traditions. In antiquity, not only the ancient Greeks and Romans recognized the special properties of these leaves, but Mediterranean peoples also incorporated them into their folk medicine. The famous Hildegard of Bingen used olive leaf tea to enhance well-being, while in ancient Egypt, pharaohs were mummified using pressed olive leaves. This method protected the pharaohs' mummies from parasites, fungi, and bacteria. This historical context is fascinating not only because of its long tradition but also creates a bridge to current trends and developments. Olive Leaf Extract: A natural source of powerful oleuropein

Oleuropein is a powerful antioxidant substance, which is found in various parts of the olive tree, including roots, bark, fruit, and especially in the leaves. Oleuropein plays a crucial role in the survival of the olive tree. It not only serves as a protective shield against free radicals, but also protects the tree from damage that could be caused by insect infestation, bacteria, viruses, and fungi. Due to the high content of oleuropein, the resilience of the olive tree is increased to such an extent that it has the ability to reach a remarkable age of up to1000 years to reach.

Oleuropein is particularly interesting in terms of its antioxidant effect. In olive leaves, this super antioxidant is found in approximately3000 times higher concentration than in olive oil.This is because the tree bears its leaves for about five years, and therefore needs to protect them particularly well against pests and fungi during this time. Extracting oleuropein from fresh olive leaves makes it possible to make this powerful yet versatile plant substance available to humans.

The oleuropein content in our olive leaf extracts varies depending on the product. In BIO FORTE 100% olive leaf extract, the oleuropein content is standardized to 10%, which corresponds to a concentration of 12,000 mg per 100 ml. This standardization ensures consistent extract quality and potency. In our other variants (NATURA,PREMIUM, andSTANDARD), where the leaves are wild-harvested, the oleuropein content varies according to the natural conditions of the plants. In the case of wild duck, the leaves are primarily harvested from old trees, as these have a higher oleuropein content. The manual harvesting of olive leaves is not only environmentally friendly but also crucial for product quality.

For our liquid olive leaf extract variants, we do not use a dry extract, but only the 100% pure extract made from fresh leaves.

The various forms and concentrations of our olive leaf extracts offer a wide selection, allowing you to select the olive leaf extract precisely according to your individual preferences and needs. The "PREMIUM" and "STANDARD" versions contain vegetable glycerin (derived from coconuts), which, with its sweet taste, mitigates the bitterness of the extract.

Application and dosage of olive leaf extract

To ensure optimal effectiveness, the application of olive leaf extract varies depending on the product and concentration. For ourhighly concentrated product, BIO FORTE 100%, we recommend a daily intake of3 times 1 ml on an empty stomach.For sensitive individuals, we recommend taking it with a meal.

Our olive leaf extractsNATURA 100%, PREMIUM 90% and STANDARD 70% can be dosed individually:three times daily between 2.5 ml and 7.5 ml, with 2.5 ml recommended for prevention, 5 ml as a standard dose and 7.5 ml in acute situations.
