Acerola cherry: natural power pack with 30x more vitamin C than lemon

The acerola fruit(Malpighia glabra) originates from tropical South America and closely resembles our cherry in appearance. The name "acerola" comes from the Spanish word "azerole," which means "pretty and useful." The acerola fruit is known primarily for its high natural vitamin C content, which is approximately 30 times higher than that of a lemon.

The acerola berry belongs to the Malpighiae family, originating in Mexico and valued by the indigenous Mayan peoples for its immune-boosting properties. Today, this superfruit is cultivated primarily throughout the Americas, especially in Brazil and the USA, but also in other countries such as Africa, India, Jamaica, and Australia.

The acerola cherry can be eaten on its own and tastes not sweet as one might expect, but rather sour. The fruit itself is usually only available fresh in the countries where it is grown, as the fruit spoils within a few days of harvest. If you still don't want to miss out on this vitamin C bomb, you can easily turn to acerola powder. This can be wonderfully mixed into smoothies, juices, or even water and easily meets your daily vitamin C needs.

Even though most people are familiar with vitamin C, very few know how diverse the effects of this vitamin are on our body.

Vitamin C can support a variety of important bodily functions and is therefore quite rightly the most purchased vitamin supplement in Germany.
