Our vegan omega-3 algae oils in premium quality. Sustainable. Healthy. Highly dosed.
Omega-3 fatty acids are essential for a healthy lifestyle. But did you know that around 70% of the German population does not consume enough omega-3? It is therefore crucial to get them through your diet or high-quality food supplements.
Our vegan omega-3 algae oils offer a wealth of health benefits. They promote normal heart function, support the maintenance of healthy blood pressure and help to keep blood triglyceride levels in balance. They also support normal brain function and vision. The regular intake of omega-3 fatty acids can therefore contribute to leading a vital and healthy life.
Omega-3 fatty acids and their effects on health
Omega-3 fatty acids are essential nutrients that are indispensable for a healthy lifestyle. They belong to the group of polyunsaturated fatty acids and are particularly well known for their positive effects on health. The two most important omega-3 fatty acids are DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid). These fatty acids cannot be produced by the human body itself, which is why they must be obtained through diet or food supplements. Omega-3 fatty acids are essential for normal heart function, blood pressure, blood triglyceride levels, brain function and vision. They play a key role in maintaining health and should not be missing from any balanced diet.
How is the algae oil produced?
Our high-quality and vegan algae oil is extracted from the microalgae Schizochytrium sp. Schizochytrium sp. is cultivated in specially developed sterile fermentation tanks. After a careful cooling and resting phase, a physical separation process follows using a 3-phase centrifuge. This process ensures that the omega-3 fatty acids DHA(docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid)are containedin high concentrations . It is important to emphasize that the production of our algae oil takes place without the use of harmful chemical solvents and is carried out strictly in the absence of oxygen and light.
This innovative process guarantees the purity and quality of our algae oil and enables the beneficial properties of the omega-3 fatty acids to be optimally preserved. With this sustainable and gentle production method, we offer an algae oil that meets the highest quality standards and is therefore a healthy addition to your diet.

Our vegan omega-3 algae oils offer the perfect solution for anyone who wants to benefit from the advantages of omega-3 fatty acids without having to resort to animal products. The algae oils are extracted from the microalgae Schizochytrium sp., a purely plant-based source of DHA and EPA. By taking Omega-3 algae oil from SinoPlaSan, vegans and vegetarians can ensure that they meet their Omega-3 requirements. Our algae oils are not only ethical but also beneficial to health and help promote a sustainable lifestyle.
How much omega-3 do you need daily?
The recommended dosage of omega-3 fatty acids, especially EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid), depends on various factors. For healthy people, a daily intake of 300 to 600 mg EPA/DHA is recommended, with no more than 5000 mg daily from supplements.
The correct ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids in the diet is also important, with a balanced ratio of around 5:1 omega-6 to omega-3 often recommended. The higher the omega-6 consumption, the more omega-3 fatty acids are required to achieve a healthy balance.
The choice of omega-3 supplement is crucial and you should ensure that it contains the desired levels of EPA and DHA. In any case, the dosage of omega-3 fatty acids should be discussed with a doctor, especially if there are specific health concerns or risks.

What should I take algae oil for?
Omega-3 fatty acids are so-called polyunsaturated fatty acids. They belong to the essential fatty acids. Humans need them to survive and the body cannot produce them itself. In Germany, about 70 percent of the population has an omega-3 level that is too low. Fatty cold-water fish, which mainly contains the omega-3 fatty acids eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), is rarely found on menus in this country. Vegetable oils, on the other hand, which mainly supply linolenic acid (ALA), are only suitable to a limited extent for an adequate omega-3 supply.
DHA contributes above all to the maintenance of normal brain function and normal vision (from a daily intake of 250 mg).
EPA and DHA contribute to normal heart function (from a daily intake of 250 mg each).
Why algae oil instead of fish oil or krill oil?
Most users associate omega-3 fatty acids with fish or krill oil products because they are advertised as having high omega-3 content. Few realize that these marine animals absorb the omega-3 fatty acids by eating algae. So why kill these animals and not just consume the algae directly? Omega-3 rich algae such as the microalgae Schizochytrium sp. are the ideal source of the high quality omega-3 fatty acids DHA and EPA.
The microscopic single-celled marine algae Schizochytrium sp. occurs naturally in mangrove forests of tropical coasts. Alternatively, the alga can be cultivated in large tanks in an environmentally friendly way to obtain the valuable algae oil in consistently high quality. Krill and fish stocks can thus be sustainably conserved and the "marine ecosystem" remains unaffected. Due to the cultivation in tanks, the algae additionally remain free of pollutants. Algae oil is purely vegetable and therefore equally suitable for vegetarians and vegans.
How is the algae oil produced?
Our algae oil is extracted from the microalgae Schizochytrium sp. This microalgae is naturally very rich in the omega-3 fatty nutrients DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) and EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid). Schizochytrium sp. is cultivated in sterile fermentation tanks. After a cooling and resting period, a physical separation is carried out by a 3-phase centrifugal process. The algae oil is produced without the use of chemical solvents and with the exclusion of oxygen and light.
Where is the algae oil produced?
Our algae oil is processed and bottled in our own multi-certified (IFS7, BIO, HACCP, ISO9001 etc.) production facility located in Germany.
Is the algae oil certified organic?
Currently, omega-3 algae oil cannot be certified organic, because fermentation takes place in the manufacturing process, among other things. (Partially) fermented products are currently not bio-certifiable.
Is the algae oil laboratory tested for heavy metals, microbiology, DHA-EPA content, TOTOX value, etc.?
Of course, all of our products are laboratory tested. Each batch is analyzed before it is put on the market and we will be happy to send you a copy of the analysis upon request. Either to the batch currently sold or to your batch received (please indicate the best before date on the bottle).
What is the TOTOX value of the algae oil and how high is it?
The TOTOX (TOTal OXidation) value is used to assess the oxidative spoilage (caused by oxygen contact) of a fat or oil.
The lower the TOTOX value, the fresher the oil (because the lower the progress of oxidation).
If the TOTOX value is high, it can be assumed that the oil has advanced oxidation, which is then often colloquially perceived as "rancid" or "spoiled".
If possible, the TOTOX value should always be below 10, then the oil is considered fresh. From a value of 26, the oil is considered oxidized / spoiled.
The pure algae oil is also tested for the TOTOX value directly after production for each batch. On average, our batches show a value of 2-5.
Where does the raw material for the algae oil, i.e. the microalgae Schizochytrium sp. come from?
The raw material for the microalgae, i.e. Schizochytrium sp. algae, comes from the USA.
Why does your algae oil contain rosemary extract as an antioxidant and no vitamin E?
We have consciously decided against antioxidants such as vitamin E (often from soybean oil) and in favor of rosemary extract. This is approved in organic quality in the EU as a natural antioxidant. Here, the contained carnosolic acid acts as an antioxidant. In addition, each batch of this raw material is tested for its effectiveness in comparison with vitamin E and shows here a 1.6-fold effect at the same dosage.
What is the blood orange flavor derived from and is it natural?
The blood orange flavor for our algae oil is extracted directly from the blood orange and is therefore naturally occurring.
Does the algae oil contain iodine?
Our algae oil is practically iodine-free. The Schizochytrium sp. algae does not belong to the algae that accumulate iodine from the environment, e.g. the sea. Since our algae are not taken from the sea, but cultivated in sterile fermentation tanks, we have full control over the environment in which the algae grow. Our 100 ml bottle of algae oil (94 g) contains less than 0.13 mg (13 µg) of iodine on the whole bottle. So on the maximum daily portion of 2.5 ml there is almost no iodine left. The product is considered JODE FREE.
Does the algae oil contain phytoestrogens?
No, the strain Schizochytrium does not contain phytoestrogens and they are not used during the production process. This means that the product is free of phytoestrogens.
Are the omega-3 fatty acids in triglyceride form?
Yes, the omega-3 algae oil is in triglyceride form!
Is the algae oil GMO-free?
Yes, the algae oil is produced without the use of GMO (genetically modified organisms).
How should the algae oil be stored?
Once opened, the algae oil should be stored in the refrigerator and consumed within about 3 months. From the date of production, the algae oil has a shelf life of 12 months (see best before date) and is normally produced fresh every 1-2 months to ensure that you always get a long best before date.
Our special edition "Algae Oil PUR" without rosemary extract (antioxidant) and blood orange flavoring should always be stored in the refrigerator (even before opening) and used until the end of the printed best before date.
Storing the oil in the freezer will extend the shelf life.
Can I mix the algae oil into food or drinks?
You are welcome to mix the algae oil into dishes or drinks. However, we advise that the drinks and dishes are lukewarm at the most to avoid breaking the high-quality fatty acids.
When is the best time to take the algae oil?
We advise to take the algae oil shortly before/during or after a meal, because then the body's own fat burning is running and the omega-3 fatty acids of the algae oil can be perfectly absorbed.
Is the algae oil produced according to the Omegasafe or Oxyguard process?
The Omegasafe or Oxyguard process is used exclusively for oilseeds such as linseed from which the linseed oil is extracted. Since the algae oil is obtained by a completely different process, it cannot be produced by the Omegasafe or Oxyguard process. These processes are not transferable to the algae oil. The purpose of the Omegasafe or Oxyguard process is to ensure that the oil is protected from oxidation and thus remains fresh. This requirement is of course also taken into account in the production process of the algae oil and the production process is designed so that the algae oil is protected from oxidation in the best possible way. For this purpose, the algae oil is also produced under exclusion of light and oxygen. In order to make the freshness of the algae oil visible to the end consumer, we test and publish the so-called TOTOX value for each batch (for more information, see "What is the TOTOX value?" and view the analysis in the picture gallery). This value is usually in a top range of 2-5 and proves the freshness of the oil.
Why does the algae oil taste slightly "fishy"?
The product smells "fishy" to most noses, but even the fish doesn't actually smell "fishy", it smells "like algae". This algae gives the fish the "fishy" smell for us. This actually means that we should also say that the fish smells "like algae" and not "fishy".
Is the algae oil winterized?
Yes, winterization is usually a standard process in algae oil production. The goal of this process is to remove components that would cause the algae oil to crystallize at lower temperatures. Winterization makes the algae oil particularly clear and does not cause it to crystallize.
